We have some exciting news for the inaugural Summer Send-Off 8K!
The Summer Send-Off 8K has officially been named a Buffalo Runner of the Year race, giving local runners another opportunity to earn points while taking on a distance we've been excited to add to the Western New York racing calendar.
We created the Summer Send-Off after hearing from runners who wanted more opportunities to race beyond the traditional 5K. The certified 8K course offers a little more of a challenge while still being approachable for runners looking to step up in distance or test their fitness before fall racing season.
And because the race is happening on a Thursday evening, you can race the Summer Send-Off and still keep your weekend open for another event!
The Finish Line Is Just the Beginning
After the race, stick around at Wings Flight of Hope for a full post-race celebration featuring FREE beer or wine and live music from Coming In Hot, bringing the energy with your favorite '90s alternative rock.
Plus, a portion of race proceeds benefits Wings Flight of Hope, making this summer evening about more than just the miles.
