    Walk2Fitness Group Is Back!

    Looking for a new way to stay active, meet great people, and build healthy habits? Join us for Walk2Fitness at Runner’s Roost in East Amherst, happening every Monday from 6–7 PM.

    This welcoming weekly walking group is open to all ages and abilities and is led by an incredibly experienced coach, Don Lawrence.

    Don brings decades of expertise in the sport of walking and track & field:
    • 3× US Olympic Trials USATF Coach
    • USATF Race Walk Executive Committee Member
    • NYSPHSAA State Meet Chief Walk Judge
    • Empire State Senior Games Coordinator
    • WNY Track & Field Official

    Each week will include clinics and workouts focused on Race Walking, Power Walking, and Fitness Walking. Whether you are just getting started or already love walking for fitness, any style of walking is welcome.

    Along the way you’ll also learn:
    • Tips on proper walking footwear
    • Stretching and injury prevention
    • Goal setting for walking fitness
    • Techniques for more efficient movement
    • How to truly “walk with purpose.”

    This group meets at Runner’s Roost on Transit Rd in East Amherst and is separate from our Monday run group, which meets at The Rock Kitchen & Bar.

    If you have been looking for a supportive way to move more, improve your fitness, and connect with others in the community, this is a great place to start.
